Access

Access around Avoncroft site is generally good, however owing to the nature and construction of some of the historic buildings, access is restricted to some of them.  Avoncroft works towards making access as free as possible and providing alternative means where this is physically prevented.  If you have any suggestions for improved access, please contact us or leave suggestions with a member of staff.   Disabled toilet and parking is available and there are wheelchairs available should you require to borrow one.

Facilities

The Museum car and coach park is free of charge for visitors and guests.

Other facilities include:

The Tea Room and Museum Shop -

Please note - Avoncroft is currently transferring its Tea Room to a different building so is only able to offer limited facilities until the end of 2008.

The temporary Tea Room is located upstairs in the String of Horses building and is offering a range of hot and cold drinks, traditional cakes, chocolate bars and crisps.  There are usually sandwiches, and hot toast available, but please telephone in advance to check opening hours and menu.  There is no lift access to the temporary tea room and it is up a flight of steep stairs.  If this a problem for any of your party please inform the ticket office staff on arrival and we will endeavour to make alternative arrangements.

Picnic Area - tables are provided in a pleasant wooded area if you would like to bring your own refreshments

Group Visits

Reduced prices are available for larger groups and parties. We also offer a range of activities, including brick, chain and nail making demonstrations which can be pre-booked. Please contact the Museum for further information.
