The Cell Block, Ledbury, Herefordshire
This cell block, built around the 1870s, was attached to the Magistrates Court in Church Street, Ledbury. The cells housed people suspected of a crime before they were tried. Those held in such buildings were most often charged with crimes such as arson, poaching, petty theft, begging or vagrancy.
