Gardens & wildlife

Welcome to Avoncroft’s green space. Our beautiful historic buildings are set in a 15 acre site.  The Merchant’s House, Toll House and 1950s Arcon V Prefab all have gardens which are planted and maintained in keeping with the period they represent. Produce from these gardens is used in our Edwardian Tea Room.

Avoncroft has a cider and perry orchard stocked with various varieties of fruits. There is a pictureque wildlife pond by the Cholstrey barn that is host to insects, ducks, coots and visiting wildlife. A second wildlife pond is currently under construction at the south end of the orchard.
