Avoncroft Museum is a charming and unusual venue suitable for a variety of functions and events.
Welcome your guests to your private party or corporate event in one of the Museum’s own exhibit buildings. We can offer two rooms for private hire; New Guesten Hall and the Long Room. Both rooms have beautiful historic features, making them unusual and stunning venues for your function.

New Guesten Hall
New Guesten Hall is the largest of our rooms and has a spectacular fourteenth century Grade II* listed roof. It can hold up to 120 people seated and 180 people for a non-seated function, it is also licensed as an approved venue for civil wedding and baby-naming ceremonies. Above New Guesten Hall is the Weaver Gallery, an additional space which can hold up to 40 people; it is an excellent breakout space or additional seating area, it is also licensed for smaller civil ceremonies. It is reached by a staircase from the main part of the Hall. New Guesten Hall has level access but please note the Weaver Gallery is accessible only via stairs.
The Long Room
The Long Room is our smaller room, on the upper level of the half-timbered sixteenth century String of Horses building. It can hold up to 40 people seated and up to 50 for a non-seated function. The Long Room is full of character and is divided into three areas by supporting beams. This room is accessible only via stairs and owing to its location, it is more suited to daytime or more informal functions.
Daytime functions can be catered for by our own Edwardian Tea Room, who can provide hearty lunchtime cold buffets and delicious afternoon teas. We also have a selection of approved external caterers, who can provide a wide range of catering styles for both daytime and evening functions. The Museum will remain open to the public during usual opening hours and your hire may coincide with Museum events or group visits.
