Education workshops

Education workshops last for approximately 45 minutes and are designed for a maximum of 30 children per workshop. Sessions are delivered in the historic buildings or around the Museum’s grounds. Historical replica objects, exploration and hands-on experiences are used to recreate the past or explore the present.

Building and construction

Get hands-on as you discover how our buildings were made in these sessions about traditional building methods and materials. Avoncroft Museum offers the following buildings and construction workshops:

Windmills and wildlife

Explore the natural world in our orchard, pond and wildflower meadow and discover how fruit and wheat are processed in our perry mill and windmill. We offer the following windmills and wildlife sessions:

  • Apples – from orchard to juice
  • Wind, windmills and wheat


Little Stories

Workshops specially designed for younger children from pre-school to year 2. Avoncroft Museum offers the following ‘little stories’ education workshops:
