School visits

Avoncroft Museum offers hands-on workshops based on construction, suitable for topics including design, technology, science and nature. We aim to support the National Curriculum through the development of individual enquiry, communication and learning.

Workshops last 90 minutes for groups of 15 children, with a number of different hands-on activities during each workshop.  A visit including workshops and time to explore the Museum and our education resources are suitable for school groups of up to 60 children.

Construction workshop activities include wattle and daub, and hand-making bricks which children (and adults) can take home!

Our Three Little Pigs workshop includes a retelling of the classic fairytale making the themes of building and construction easily accessible to younger children.

We are developing more new workshops, on a range of subjects to make a visit to Avoncroft Museum even more engaging for young enquiring minds! Look out here for more information later in 2018.
