All events are at the normal Museum prices, Members are admitted free to the Museum during normal opening times. Membership does not cover ticketed performances, evening events, February half-term events and Halloween Trick or Treat. Additional activities on site may have an additional cost if stated.

Bank Holiday – Mon 27 May
Monstrous Monarch
Come and experience how Henry VIII would have lived and meet the man himself! See fantastic falconry, listen to Tudor music, join in with Tudor dancing and try a spell in the stocks. An Apothecary (medicine maker) will be in the Merchant’s House providing intriguing tales of how ailments were treated in Tudor times. There will be the opportunity for children to have a pony ride and have a ride on the miniature train.
Marvellous Monster Activity Days Tue 28 to Thu 30 May
Try all manner of monstrous crafts and activities at Avoncroft this holiday.
Make monster masks and feet, a big ‘bag’ monster and a Monster University ID pass. A ‘Monster Hunter’ will be reading fun monster stories and children can take part in a monser trail around the Museum.

Bonham’s Valuation Day – Wed 5 June 5th
Experts from top action house Bonhams will be on hand to give their opinion of items that you may be interested in selling. Half price admission for visitors bringing valuation items. Valuers will cover jewellery and silver, pictures and ceramics.
Sixties Sunday Sun 9 June
Swing by our groovy ’60s Sunday event to mark 50 years of Avoncroft Museum. Shop till you drop at our Vintage Fair selling crafts, vintage clothes and retro furniture. Try your hand or just reminisce at the games that became popular in the 1960’s ranging from Mousetrap to Space Hoppers. Owners of 1960s cars will be given free entry to their car and driver on the day. Please contact the Museum to book stall or register your car.
English Civil War Society – Sat 15 & Sun 16 June
For Father’s Day, Avoncroft is welcoming the English Civil War Society to take visitors back to 1661 as King Charles II army is moving closer to Bromsgrove. Throughout Worcestershire, the local militia is being raised to block his path. Skirmishes, living history camps and displays of weaponry each day.
Austin Car Rally – Sun 30 June
Vintage and classic Austin cars will be parked around the site giving visitors the opportunity to see some of the popular models from the golden age of British motoring.

Gruesome History – Vikings, Tudors and Victorians Sat 13 & Sun 14 July
Discover the most gruesome bits of history this weekend. Find out how illnesses and injuries were treated in the sixteenth century. View different types of weaponry and see what ghastly wounds this equipment could cause; take a look at the living conditions and discover why the people were so smelly. Children are encouraged to take part in our activities and take a piece of gruesome history away with you.

Experience the life of an 18th century Redcoat at an authentic military encampment as the soldiers prepare to quell the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion. The living history encampment will be accessible throughout the day showing all elements of military life including authentic cookery.
