Heritage Skills Workshop: spinning

Thursday 17th March, 10.00am – 4.00pm, £40 (£35 members)

Wool spinning is a craft that has been practised for many thousands of years and is still widespread today. This full day course is friendly, informative and entertaining and will be led by experienced spinner and tutor Marylin Wright.

Find out more about the history of spinning, try your hand at spinning using drop spindles and spinning wheels. We will also dye wool and explore types of spinning devices from across the world, including Russian, Indian, and Native American (Blackfoot and Navajo) ones.

All materials and equipment are provided and lunch in our award-winning tea room is included.
