Rag Rugging in the Cholstrey Threshing Barn & Life in the Town House

Centuries ago, people would make use of resources in a ‘waste not, want not’ style of living. A rag rug is an excellent example of this philosophy. Have a go at rag rugging and learn the basic techniques as well as a little of the history of this creative craft.

The Town House is our oldest building. Learn about how lives were lived in this evocative environment of wood, fire and straw.
